POW! in the NY Times
Here's a review of the "Babar's Museum of Art" exhibition at the Nassau County Museum of Art that will officially open at the museum on January 18, 2009.
If you're in the Long Island area, please stop in and see Babar!
The Envelope, Please ... On another note, I'd like to congratulate our two winners from the recent Exhibit Cheapbooks contest. They are Christine Farris, from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Joyce Cheney, from Focus Communications.
Both Christine and Joyce will each receive a three-volume set of the ASTC Exhibit Cheapbooks.

Hey, thats great Infos on your Blog, i found you on Twitter :-)
ReplyDeleteI saw the review in the NY Times yesterday. What a wonderful way to breathe new life into an older museum! I bet adult visitors enjoy it as much (or even more!) than the kids! And what a great way to introduce what a museum is and what art is to kids. I especially liked how the permanent exhibits were linked to the new exhibit, while creating a simple interactive scavenger hunt.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Paul! Oh, how I wish I was near enough to see the exhibit. I do think that Babar speaks to all of us.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish we still lived on the East Coast! My six year loves the original Seurat version of this painting hanging in the Art Institute in Chicago (her grandma lives in Illinois) and she LOVES Babar! She would be thrilled by this exhibit!
ReplyDeleteI should mention that the exhibition is drawn from the book "Babar's Museum of Art" which is worth seeking out at your local library or book seller.
